He is a professional midfielder playing currently for the Guatemala national football side, and also for the top Guatemalan club, the CSD Municipal. He has been especially good playing for the club in the Guatemala national League. Ramirez started his career in professional football playing with the CSD municipal club in the year 1995. He played with them till 2000, making 22 appearances and scoring 4 goals. In 2001, he moved to a Greek football club, the PAS Giannina, where he played 9 matches. After a brief spell in Atlante FC in 2002, he moved into the Jaguares de Chiapas club, playing 14 matches for them and scoring 2 goals as well. He played brilliantly especially at the Mexican First Division games.

Romero started his football career with a less known club called the Coban Imperial where he stayed till 2001. In 2001, he switched to the giants of Guatemala club football, CSD Municipal, where they have been playing till date. He has had 74 appearances for the club, and has scored a total 9 goals till date. His brilliant tactics on field and his dedication to the side has made him one of the star players of Municipal, and he is a starter for almost all their games.
